LCD projector is one of the ICT Solutions product which is used for dispalying images, text or videos on a projection screen or any surface which can be used as a projection screen. Other projectors available in the market are overhead and slide projectors. It is a computer projector which uses technologies like liquid crystal display (LCD), Digital Light Processing (DLP) or Liquid Crystal on Silicon (LCOS) for video projections.




LCD is a flat and thin device which is made up of colored or monochrome pixels and consumes very small amount of power. Almost all electronic devices which run on a battery use LCDs. DLP is a projection technology just like LCD. LCOS is a micro display technology which uses liquid crystals on a silicon chip surface and thus can produce higher resolution images than plasma and LCD technologies.
This technology can be implemented at a relatively low cost than the LCD or plasma technologies. JVC's D-ILA, Liquid Fidelity, Sony's SXRD etc are some examples of implementation of LCOS based ICT solutions on the commercial level.
